Elizaveta Kapustina (EXTRA ULTRA) is a Vienna-based multimedia artist born in 1998 in St. Petersburg, Russia. She studied Graphics and Printmaking at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna in the class of Professor Jan Svenungsson.
Since 2016, she has taken part in several exhibitions, including a solo show at the gallery Improper Walls in Vienna, as well as various group shows organized by the University of Applied Arts Vienna, the „Curators Agenda“ in the gallery Krinzinger Projekte in Vienna, „Die Sichtbare Wahrheit“ in the gallery Hilger Next, and „Circle“ in the Galerie.Z in Hard, Vorarlberg.
In 2017, she started working under the pseudonym EXTRA ULTRA. Her digital collages and video art depict projections of her alter ego in theatralic and exaggerated scenes. She combines classical and modern, as well as digital and non-digital elements, to transgress the possibilities of expression into the grotesque.
